It is not that bad. Bring Mhenlo and Lina along and that should be more than enough heals/protect for most places.

You can do SoO HM easily by replacing the MM with another RoJ monk since minions are not as effective in SoO. And I always bring at least 2 copies of [[balthazar's aura] for HM SoO because I like that skill. Zero deaths.

I'm trying to combine a bunch of different ideas into 1 build for Smiteway. I submitted it to PvX. Tell me what you think.

I tested the build, but I don't feel comfortable with it, I can't tell why.

I find Sabway more efficient for a 3 necro team-build, while for areas full of undeads I prefer 3 smiting hero monks (with runes they deal much more damage).

So I am using a simple
[build=Owgj4wQooOVf8K1367S8ZeTMGA]
times 3.

Now, the problem seems to be that my guys refuse to use RoD. They don't even use it as a heal. It just sits there.
Anyone else having the same issue?

My seem to use it rather often. :/
But they only use it if you are taking damage, they dont recognize it as heal, so when you are out of batttle they will almost never start healing with it. Very annoying when my party is degening. >.<

They dont use it as a heal but as a prot. During combat you want them to use it as a prot anyway. Outside of combat, just bring Mhenlo for heals.

I think you misunderstood the problem.
He said that they didn't use it at all.

Then I never had this problem with my Monks, maybe I should log on and see because I remember they spammed RoD like crazy in battle.

Khmm, it might have been my use of a flatbow.
I just ran the guys on my ritualist - I flagged them NEXT to a foe and RoD was used a few times. Not spammed - but at least used.
It could be that the distance is messing with them.

So the question should probably be - anyone using a flatbow experiencing this?

Found this video in pvx for a RoJ team in HM SoO. Seem to use RoD often enough but it is using a warrior.

It probably really is the flatbow.
I had issues getting my heroes to use other skills also. For now, the fix the works seems to be setting my monks on aggressive mode.

If haven't made the switch yet, I have shards of orr on my list of things to do and that is why I'm considereing RoJ. Wouldn't some
[Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support] + [You Move Like a Dwarf] + [Epidemic], help contain foes with some minions thrown in on it.

My main is an elementalist, i was just wondering would a Obsidian Tank with some warrior stances be able to hold the agro well enough to get the full effect of the ROJ's?

Why not just hit them with Deep Freeze?
It's kinda a waste to run a tank when you could be doing sweet damage instead!

I suppose i could.

I've been mainly using Discord necros in hard mode vanquishing and missions and thought i would use ROJ heroes for some of the undead areas plus i thought i would try something different. From reading this thread and looking at pvxwiki i've noticed a few of people talking about using a tank type build to hold aggro, but i guess you don't need to though probably doing so makes it more effective.

I guess i'll give it a go and see.

Bring anti-KD on your heroes if you are bringing them to HM Shards. Anyway, HM Shards can also be run on a SF assassin with IAU.

Do you guys usually run Rayway and bring a hench healer as well? I tried using Rayway on it's own and much of my team was getting owned, and that was in NM southern shiverpeaks D:

Granted one of my heroes was level 14 or so, but still

it made me feel like I was doing something terribly wrong (but I wassn't).

The 3 smiter monks in Rayway usually account for 1 healer. In all of NM and most of HM, I run a 2 healer backline, one of which is a henchman, and the other being my 3 heroes.

For elite areas, I run 2 healers + the 3 smiters.

I also see your profession as P/W... Running an imbagon with this team is absolutely fantastic since the monks have very low natural armor. (Yes, I realize imbagons make any team win PvE)

Imbagon RoJway (this will fail without the paragon, no prots =3):

[build prof=Mo/E hea=8+1 smi=12+1+3 div=10+2][ray of judgment][reversal of damage][smite hex][smite condition][healing seed][smiter's boon][castigation signet][glyph of lesser energy][/build]

[build prof=Mo/E hea=8+1 smi=12+1+3 div=10+2][ray of judgment][reversal of damage][smite hex][smite condition][healing seed][smiter's boon][castigation signet][glyph of lesser energy][/build]

[build prof=Mo/E prot=8+1 smi=12+1+3 div=10+2][ray of judgment][smite hex][smite condition][shield of absorption][aegis][smiter's boon][castigation signet][glyph of lesser energy][/build]

I run healing seed on there mostly if the aggro focuses on the paragon (almost never happens, but better safe than sorry). If you feel it is unnecessary, you can throw aegises on there instead. And yes, I'm using a superior + a major rune, but who cares, you have an imbagon. Full Survivor's + vitaes and a 40/40 set puts you at 470 health, 42 energy.

I find this works better than the racway posted on this forum, and is slightly faster than sabway at vanquishing. However, you have to be careful to not go over double aggro, since there is no minion wall and a healer henchman + your monks will only heal so much.
